Elements of a Short Story

What is it?

Setting
Is "when and where" the story takes place. Can there are many aspects in the story like a: place, time, weather conditions, social conditions, mood or atmosphere…
The place is open, perhaps in a park where a tree can grow. The story develops over the life of a child from his infancy to old age.
Plot
The plot is developed in the story and is contained in several parts: Introduction, rising action, climax, falling action and denouement.
The story is about as a child loves a tree that gives him everything he ask, the tree loves him too, but over the years the child and only visit the tree when he need something from him. The tree always be asked to play but the child is already an adult says no. Only until the tree has nothing more to give the child decides to stay to rest as he dies.
Conflict
The conflict is the knot of the story, where an opposition is generated, it can be external, internal or man vs. another man, circumstances, society, or himself.
The conflict is that the tree before himself love, loved the child and did not care that this was selfish.
Character
They are making up the story, characters can be understood as the principal and their condescending or antagonistic, but you can also see how the characteristics of a character, whether physical or mental.
The child: Person selfish.
Tree: disinterested love.
Point of view
It's like telling a story, depending on the angle you look at it, either: Innocent Eye (like a child) Stream of Consciousness, First Person, Omniscient, Omniscient Limited, Omniscient Objective.
The author can narrate the story using the omniscient point of view.  He can move from character to character, event to event, having free access to the thoughts, feelings and motivations of his characters and he introduces information where and when he chooses.
Theme
Is the main idea the author tries to convey to the reader.
